The left menu helps you quickly navigate between Uspacy's primary tools. However, not all users work with the same sections every day. For example, a sales manager needs Deals, Activities, and Tasks at their fingertips, while using other tools much less frequently.
That is why in Uspacy, the left menu can be customized to fit your specific workflow: reorder sections and items, hide what you don't need, group essential tools into custom sections, or even add a custom item with a link to an external resource.
Who can configure the left menu?
Every Workspace user can customize the appearance of the left menu for themselves.
This means the menu can look different for each employee. For example, one user might keep CRM, Tasks, and Activities at the top of the menu and move remaining sections further down. Another might create a custom section called "Quick access" and include only the tools they use most often.
At the same time, the Workspace owner and administrator can apply their menu layout to all users. This is convenient when you need to establish a unified, recommended menu structure for the entire team.

Even after this is done, users can still continue to customize their menu according to their individual needs.
Configuring the left menu changes its layout and the arrangement of elements. It does not override access permission settings for Workspace tools.
What settings are available on different plans?
Left menu customization options depend on your Workspace plan.
🟣 On the Free plan, changing the menu structure is not available. However, you can restore the default menu layout.
If a Workspace downgrades to the Free plan from a paid plan, the previously configured menu is not automatically reset. Custom sections, menu items, and their layout remain as they were at the time of the plan change. However, editing this structure is no longer possible.
🟣 On the Standard plan, you can:
- Edit existing sections and menu items.
- Change their arrangement.
- Hide and re-enable items.
- Restore the default menu layout.
At the same time, creating new custom sections and menu items is not available on this plan.
If a Workspace moves to the Standard plan from the Professional plan, previously created custom sections and items are not deleted. They remain in the menu and can still be edited and reordered, but creating new ones is no longer supported.
🟣 On the Professional plan, all left menu customization features are available without restrictions. Specifically, you can not only edit and reorder existing elements, but also create custom sections and menu items.
How to navigate to left menu settings?
To change the menu layout, click the settings icon at the top of the menu.
This opens editing mode, where you can reorder elements, hide them, move them between sections, and create custom ones.
At the bottom of the menu, the Cancel and Save buttons will appear.

Working with default sections and menu items
Default sections and menu items are built directly into Uspacy. In editing mode, you can move them, hide them, restore them to the menu, or reorganize them across different sections.
At the same time, default elements have certain limitations: they cannot be renamed or deleted.
How to edit a section?
To change the contents of a specific section, click the Edit section below its items.

In the edit window, you can configure which menu items should belong to this section. Open the Menu items field and select the desired elements, or deselect the ones you no longer want to see in this section.

The name of a default section cannot be edited. Additionally, its icon cannot be changed.
If an administrator or Workspace owner is making changes, they can instantly apply them to other users. To do this, turn on Apply to all users.

Once you finish configuring the settings, click Save.

How to hide a menu item?
Individual default items can be removed from the active section of the menu if they are not needed in your daily work.
To do this, click the settings icon next to the desired item and select Hide.

The item will then move to the Inactive block at the bottom of the menu.

Hiding an item does not delete the tool itself from the Workspace; it simply removes it from the current left menu view.
How to restore a hidden menu item?
To restore a hidden element, locate it in the Inactive block, click the settings icon, and select Activate.

The item will then reappear in the active section of the menu.

How to move a menu item to another section?
You can change the section where a specific menu item is displayed.
Click the settings icon next to the desired item and select Edit.

In the settings window, open the Section field and select the desired option. Once saved, the item will appear in the new section.

You can also move an item faster by dragging and dropping it directly into the desired section while in editing mode.
For example, using this method, the Newsfeed can be moved to the Company and people section.

How to move a section to "Other"?
If a specific section is needed infrequently, but you don't want to hide it completely, use the Other section.
It contains a dedicated area where you can drag and drop an individual menu item or an entire section instead of hiding it.

This section will remain accessible under Other even after exiting editing mode. This is convenient for tools that are needed occasionally but shouldn't clutter the main workspace sections.
For instance, you can move Support, Trash, Plan and payment, Import and migration, or other default sections to Other.

After that, they will be grouped inside Other, making the main left menu more compact.

Custom sections and menu items
In addition to customizing the default structure, you can create custom sections and menu items in the left menu. This is useful when you need to bring tools from different parts of Uspacy into one place or add a quick shortcut to an external resource.
Unlike default elements, custom sections and menu items can be renamed, visually edited, and deleted.
How to create a custom section?
To add a new element, click the + icon at the top of the left menu while in editing mode.

In the Add a menu item window, select what you would like to create:
1. Section — to group necessary menu items in one place.
2. Menu item — to add a standalone link to the left menu.

To create a custom section, stay on the Section tab.
Enter the desired title in the Section name field. For example, you can create a Quick access section for the tools you use most frequently.
Below, select an icon to display next to the section title.

Next, in the Menu items field, check the items you want to add to the new section. You can select multiple items at once, even if they belong to different sections in the default structure. For example, you can add Deals, Activities, and Tasks to Quick access.

If an administrator or Workspace owner is configuring the layout, they can enable Apply to all users if needed.

After that, click Save.
The created section will appear in the left menu along with the selected items.

Just like other menu elements, it can be dragged and dropped to the desired position so that the most important sections sit near the top.

How to create a custom menu item?
Using the + button, you can also add a custom menu item with a link to any resource you need.

For example, this could be a corporate Google Doc, a working spreadsheet, a knowledge base, a report, or any other service you need quick access to.
In the Add a menu item window, switch to the Menu item tab (2).

Specify the following:
- Item name — this is the label that will be displayed in the left menu;
- Link — the URL of the page or resource;
- The desired icon.
For example, you can create an item named My Google Docs and add a link to a specific document or folder.

The Open in a new tab setting is available for custom menu items.
Enable this option if clicking the item should open the external resource in a separate browser tab.
This is convenient when you need to access a document or third-party service without closing your current Uspacy page.

Once configured, click Save.
If you don't select a section, the item will appear as a standalone element in the left menu. You can also move it to the desired position by dragging and dropping it.

How to add a custom item to a section?
For custom menu items, you can also specify the section where they should be displayed.
In the Section field, select the desired default or custom section.

For example, the newly created item My Google Docs can be added to the custom Quick access section along with Deals, Activities, and Tasks.

How to delete custom menu elements?
Custom sections and menu items created by users can be permanently deleted. Unlike hiding, deleting an element completely removes it from the left menu structure.
To delete a custom menu item, click the settings icon next to it and select Delete.

For a custom section, open its settings by clicking the Edit section. In the edit window, click Delete.

Before deleting a section, Uspacy will ask you to confirm the action. If it contains user-created subsections, you can also check the option Delete all created subsections within this section if needed.

Once confirmed, the section will be deleted. Any default menu items assigned to it will not be deleted; instead, they will automatically move to the bottom of the left menu. If necessary, you can rearrange them manually by dragging them to a new position or adding them to another section.

💡 Deletion cannot be undone. If you only need to temporarily remove a custom element from the left menu, use the Hide option instead.
How to apply the changes?
Once you have finished customizing the left menu, click Save at the bottom of the panel.

Upon saving, Uspacy will exit editing mode, and the left menu will immediately reflect your updated structure.
All changes will be preserved: the new order of sections and items, hidden elements, custom sections and menu items, as well as their layout.
For example, the custom item My Google Docs can appear directly below Main, while the custom section Quick access can contain Tasks, Deals, and Activities.

This allows users to see a personalized menu during daily work and quickly jump straight to the tools they use most often.
How to apply changes for all users?
A Workspace administrator or owner can configure the menu layout and apply it across all users.
To do this, click the three dots at the top of the menu while in editing mode and check Apply changes to all users.

Then, click Save.
This provides a simple way to establish a shared menu structure for the entire team—such as placing priority tools near the top, creating necessary custom sections, or hiding secondary elements from the main view.
At the same time, even after an admin or owner applies a unified layout, individual team members can still adjust the menu to suit their own preferences.
As a result, shared settings serve as a convenient baseline for the team without restricting personal interface preferences.
How to restore default settings?
If you need to revert to the default Uspacy left menu layout, click the three dots and select Restore default settings.

This allows you to quickly reset custom positioning for default elements and return the menu to its original look.
Customizing the left menu lets you tailor Uspacy navigation to fit your specific workflow. Each user can organize their essential sections and items independently, while Workspace admins and owners can set up a unified default structure for the whole team when needed.
This keeps your primary tools within easy reach while preventing the left menu from becoming overcrowded with rarely used features.
