Funnel conversion report

Funnel conversion report

This article explains how the funnel conversion report works in Uspacy analytics, what it is used for, and how it helps evaluate how elements move through funnel stages.

Conversion is a metric that shows what share of elements moves from one stage to the next. For example, if 10 deals enter a funnel and 6 move to the next stage, the conversion between these stages is 60%.

In Uspacy, the Funnel conversion report shows how elements move through stages: how many reach each stage, where they get stuck, which stages they skip, and where losses occur.

This type of report is useful for analyzing sales, lead processing, order fulfillment, project workflows, or any other stage-based processes.

What the conversion report is for

This report helps you see not only the total number of elements in the funnel, but also the effectiveness of each stage. This makes it possible to understand where the process is working well and where it needs attention.

For example, if many deals reach the first stage but significantly fewer move forward, it may indicate that the team is losing clients early in the process. If elements remain in a stage for a long time, it is worth checking whether that stage needs additional actions, automation, or a change of responsible person.

The report is also useful for evaluating how consistently the team works with the funnel. If elements often appear directly in later stages or skip parts of the process, this will also be visible in the analytics.

Where the conversion report is available

The Funnel conversion report is available for entities that use funnel stages. For example, it can be created for leads or deals. If a Space has directions enabled for Smart Objects, the report can also be created for those objects.

How to create a conversion report

Go to the Analytics section and open the Reports and widgets tab. Click Create.

At the top of the page, select the entity for which you want to build the report. This can be Leads, Deals, or a Smart Object with enabled directions.

Next, enter the report title. Optionally, add a description so other users understand what the report is for and what data it shows.

In the Applied filters section, you can limit the data included in the report. For example, you can include only elements assigned to a specific user, a certain time period, a specific source, or other criteria.

To add a filter, click Add a condition and select the required field. Both standard and custom fields are available in the list.

In other words, filters allow you to build a report not for the entire funnel, but for a specific segment.

As in other custom reports, you can add multiple conditions and select how they are combined, such as All conditions at the same time or At least one condition.

In the chart section, click the funnel icon among the available chart types. This is the visualization used for the Funnel conversion report.

Only the Measure by parameter is available for this report. This is because it is not based on individual fields, dates, or groupings, but strictly on the stages of a specific funnel.

You then need to select the funnel for which Uspacy should build the report. The system will display its stages as a chart and show how many elements pass through each one.

The width of the blocks visually represents how the number of elements changes across stages. If a stage should not be displayed in the chart, it can be hidden using the eye icon on the right.

To view detailed data for a stage, hover over the corresponding block in the chart. The tooltip will display key metrics.

What the metrics in the report mean

The tooltip for each stage displays several key metrics.

Number — the number of elements that actually passed through this funnel stage. This metric helps you understand how many elements went through a specific stage.

Skipped — the number of elements that did not pass through this stage but reached later stages in the funnel. This can happen if an element is added directly to a later stage or moved non-sequentially.

Average time in stage — the average amount of time elements spend in this stage. This metric helps identify stages where the process may be slowing down.

Conversion from the previous stage — shows how the current stage relates to the previous one. It helps evaluate how effectively elements move between adjacent funnel stages and whether there are losses during the transition.

Cumulative conversion — shows the overall share of elements that have reached the current stage from the beginning of the funnel. This helps assess the overall efficiency of the process and how many elements progress to each step.

Sometimes conversion can exceed 100%. This is possible when elements are added directly to later stages, bypassing earlier ones. For example, leads or deals may be created directly at a later stage or processed through different workflows.

Table view of the report

In addition to the standard funnel view, the Funnel conversion report can also be viewed in a table format. To do this, select the appropriate chart type in the Chart type section.

In this view, funnel stages are displayed as rows, while key metrics are shown as separate columns. Instead of a visual funnel, you see a detailed table with data for each stage: number of elements, skipped stages, average time in stage, conversion from the previous stage, and cumulative conversion.

Note that this view does not change the calculation logic; it only presents the data in a different format. It is useful when you need to quickly compare metrics across stages or review all values in one table.

In the table, the Number column is visually highlighted. The colored blocks in this column represent only the elements that actually reached the stage. In other words, only the Number value is included in the colored portion, excluding skipped elements.

This differs from the standard funnel view, where the stage width reflects both elements that reached the stage and those that skipped it. In the table view, the colored block helps you quickly assess the actual volume at each stage.

To save the report in your Workspace, click Create.

After that, the report will appear in the Reports and widgets list. You can open it, view up-to-date data, and use it for funnel analysis.

Overall, the Funnel conversion report helps evaluate how elements move through process stages. It shows the number of elements at each stage, skipped stages, average time in stage, conversion between stages, and overall funnel performance.

This makes it easier to identify weak points in the process, detect stages with losses or delays, and make decisions based on clear analytical data.
