Option to hide fired employees

Option to hide fired employees

In this article, we explain how to enable the option to hide fired employees in your Workspace, how it affects lists, filters, and user selection fields, and what you need to do to view or restore a former employee.

Uspacy allows you to hide fired employees from Workspace sections and tools. This helps keep working lists focused on active users and ensures that only current employees are available for selection.

By default, the Hide fired employees option is disabled. As a result, former employees may still appear in the employee list, filters, and other areas where users can be selected.

💡 Please note: The Hide fired employees option does NOT remove former users from the Workspace.

Where to find this option?

To enable hiding fired employees, go to Settings → Sections. Open the Company & people tab and navigate to the Settings subsection.

How does the option work when disabled?

When the Hide fired employees option is disabled, former users remain visible throughout the Workspace.

For example, in Company & people → Employees, you can locate them using the Employee status filter. In this case, all statuses are available, including Fired.

After selecting the Fired status, the list will display users who are no longer active Workspace members.

Fired employees may also appear in filters within other sections, such as the list of assignees in Tasks.

What changes after enabling the option?

Once the option is enabled, former employees are hidden from operational Workspace sections.

They will no longer appear in:

  • the employee list;
  • the employee status filter;
  • user selection fields;
  • filters for assignees, task creators, or other user roles;
  • any other areas where employees can be selected or assigned.

For example, in the Employees section, the Employee status filter will only display statuses available for active users. The Fired status will no longer be shown.

Similarly, in Tasks, fired employees will no longer be available in the Person responsible filter.

Where can fired employees still be visible?

As mentioned above, when the option is enabled, it hides fired employees from places where they can be found, selected, or assigned. However, it does not remove their work history.

If a fired employee was previously assigned to a task, activity, CRM record, or another element, their name may still be visible within that element.

This behavior preserves historical context. For example, if a fired employee was responsible for a task, their name remains associated with it so that the team can understand the assignment history.

How to view the list of fired employees and restore them in the Workspace?

1. To view fired employees or restore one of them, first disable the Hide fired employees option.

2. After doing so, the Employees section will once again allow you to select the Fired status in the Employee status filter and view all fired Workspace users.

3. To restore an employee, locate the required user in the list and perform the restoration action.

The Hide fired employees option helps maintain a clean and organized Workspace by removing inactive users from working lists, filters, and selection fields. Once enabled, your team works exclusively with current employees, while former users no longer interfere with searches, assignments, or filter configuration.
