Comments in Tasks

We'll explain how to work with the Comments tab in a task card and provide more details on additional features for interacting with comments

Comments are a separate tab in the Task card. Here you can discuss the progress of the task or report on the completion of certain stages.

In the task card, you can see the total number of comments that currently exist.

To leave a new comment, use the field at the bottom of the page.

In the first case, the new comment will be added to the general list of comments.

In the second case, a separate thread will be created.

The comment input form looks like this ⬇️

1 – A text input field with an integrated advanced editor for formatting;

2 – An option to attach files to the comment;

3 – Action buttons for sending or canceling.

Each comment is a separate mini block. Once added to the task, interaction with it is possible. You can:

  1. reply to your own comment;
  2. react to it with an emoji;
  3. copy the link, pin it, edit, or delete it.

For comments made by others, you can:

  1. reply to the comment;
  2. react to it with an emoji;
  3. ropy the link or pin it.

Thus, the basic interaction options with comments are:

🟣 reply to the comment using the Reply button (as described above ⬆️)

🟣 add reactions with emojis;

🟣 copy the link – if you paste this link into the browser’s address bar, the task will open directly at the point where the comment was made. The comment will be highlighted to attract additional attention.

🟣 edit and delete comments.

Additional features

Besides these basic actions, there are two more features that make working with comments even more convenient.

Pinning comments

To ensure that important information or decisions made during the discussion are not lost in the general flow, you can pin specific comments. To do this, select this option in the interaction menu.

As a result, the comment will be added to a special area at the top.

By clicking on it, you will be redirected to the discussion where it was specified. The pinned comment will be highlighted to attract attention.

If more than one comment is pinned, you will see the total number. To expand and view all pinned comments, click the button in the left corner of the general comment block.

Also, when a comment is pinned, it gets a special marker. 📌

At any time, you can Unpin unnecessary comments. To do this, use the corresponding option in the interaction menu.

As a result, the comment will be removed from the pinned section at the top of the block and will lose its marker. 📌

Search in comments

You can use the search feature by clicking the corresponding button 🔍

There’s no need to read through all the comments to find the one you need. Just enter a keyword or part of it into the search bar. The result will be highlighted, and you’ll also see the total number of comments that match your search query.
